Hello I'm Carl Marks I have fished since I was about 8 years old . I have fished for just about any thing that I could: bass, crappie, blue gill , carp, cat fish, white bass, walleye and then came the muskies. I have been fishing for muskies for over 20 years here on Pomme de Terre Lake. I am a member of Muskies, Inc the Pomme de Terre Chapter and I have been a member for over 20 years. I have been a part time guide on the lake since the mid 80s. In 2001 I retired from the Ford Motor Company and moved to the lake full time and started guiding full time for muskies and bass. You can muskie fish almost all year except July and August or when the water temperatures reach 80 degrees and above. Water temperatures above 80 will stress the fish and they generally will not survive.. The time to fish for Muskies are the months of March, towards the end, April, May and June in the spring and then in September, October and November or until it’s just to cold for you to be out fishing or the lake freezes over which ever comes first. I believe in catch and release. I have 100 % catch and release record and I encourage all my clients to do the same. You can take photo’s and measurements and get a replica mount that will look as good as your muskie. Bass fishing on Lake Pomme de Terre is some of the BEST in Missouri. Length limit is 13” . The bass start getting active the last of February and usually stay active through June. Bass fishing really slows down in July and August when the water temperatures rise. It usually picks back up in September and goes through October and sometimes in November depending on the temperatures. Please practice C.P.R. Call
